Two people were killed in a collision on U.S. Highway 287 north of Longmont on Friday and investigators are asking the public for help in locating the fleeing driver.
The accident happened around 5 p.m. and road rage is suspected at the four-vehicle incident, the police said. Colorado State Patrol.
Witnesses told investigators that drivers of two vehicles, a dark red or maroon pickup truck and a Chevrolet Camaro, may have been irate prior to the crash, the CSP said.
The pickup collided with the Camaro’s left side, sending the coupe into oncoming traffic where it was struck on the passenger side by a northbound Toyota Tundra. Two people in the Camaro died on the spot. The driver of the Tundra was seriously injured and was taken to hospital. The driver of the maroon pickup took off.
