Don Citroen chased away his fiancée – New York real estate agent Tim Malone — and questioning the wedding with his irritable tantrums and vicious outbursts in the wake of his firing from CNN, RadarOnline.com has learned.
“Don is so out of control right now, he’s about to end his engagement after losing his job,” said a friend. “He will be left with nothing.”
Lemon toiled for the network for 17 years before they unceremoniously dumped him last month over his sexist on-air comments. He later said he “regretted” his comments, but by then the chuckle had dug its own grave.
Tim, 39, reportedly tried to calm down the agitated journalist, “but Don wasn’t listening, and Tim is fed up!” said a friend. The couple met in 2015 at a gay mixer and got engaged in April 2019, with Tim proposing to have their beloved puppies, Barkley and Boomer, engrave dog tags: “Daddy, will you marry Daddy?”
“After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. I was never given any indication that I wouldn’t be able to continue doing the job I loved at the network. Clearly there are some bigger issues at play,” he added.
