Elliot page – the Juno actor formerly known as Ellen Page who identifies as male doesn’t get the reaction he expected when describing an alleged transphobic attack.
After claiming he was confronted by a man who “threatened to attack” him, people compared the actor’s story to disgrace rich alum Jussie Smollettwho was convicted on five crimes about a racing hoax in 2019, labeled ‘Elliot Smollett’, RadarOnline.com has learned.
In a memoirs Elliot, who was released on Tuesday, described a moment when he was allegedly accosted while walking the streets of Los Angeles in 2022.
The Umbrella Academy star, 36, claimed the man “threatened to attack” him by yelling, “I’m going to f—— gay bash you, f—–.” According to Elliot, he ran into a nearby convenience store, where employees helped him.
“From the other side of the door, the man is said to have yelled, ‘This is why I need a gun!'” a Los Angeles Times columnist wrote, citing Elliot. “When I’m in Los Angeles now, I don’t feel comfortable like I used to while walking,” the actor told the outlet.
Elliot admitted that he has the privilege of hiring security, stating that it “doesn’t mean it’s not traumatic. But I have resources that, in all difficult cases, protect and can protect me from these things.
But social media users take issue with Elliot’s story, claiming it “smells like fish,” comparing her to Smollett, who was convicted of lying to the Chicago Police Department after claiming he was attacked for being black.
“Oh please, Jussie Smollett 2.o,” one naysayer tweeted.
“They were also overheard saying ‘This is MAGA land!’ cried,” another teased. “Los Angeles is inhospitable to the trans community. Page’s attackers reportedly said ‘Welcome to Magadonia.'” a third wrote.
Someone else went to great lengths to claim that Elliot was “not a real man” because of the way he reacted to the alleged threat.

“I don’t believe this for the same reason I didn’t believe Jussie Smollett. Just smells like fish,” the person commented. “Elliot Page was born a woman, and this is how a hysterical woman behaves, not a real man. A real man would have returned it to the attacker right away, not run to the press crying.
“A real man doesn’t need constant validation like trans men do,” the user continued. “A real man does not invent attention, because he is the star of his own life. He LEADS, not follows. ‘ELLIOT’ Page looks like a boy in ‘his’ topless photo, but ‘he’ still sounds like the woman ‘he’ was born to be.
