The Champions League final is here and it’s the moment of truth for Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side have already lifted the Premier League trophy and beat rivals Man Utd to win the FA Cup. Now they can become the first club since the Red Devils in 1999 to secure the treble.
But while City are certainly favourites, it’s not a foregone conclusion against Inter Milan. The Italian giants already won the Coppa Italia this season and have enough dangerous players in their ranks.
Here’s how to watch the full match live and for free whether you live in the UK or elsewhere.
When is the Champions League final?
The final of the Champions League takes place today, June 10, 2023. It starts at 8pm BST (current UK time), but the prospect of extra time and penalties means it could be a long night.
How to watch the Champions League final in the UK for free
BT Sport has exclusive rights to the Champions League in the UK, which means you’ll need to pay a subscription to watch almost the entire tournament.
But the final is the one exception, with BT Sport livestreaming the full match via its official YouTube channel. We’ve embedded the stream below, with coverage from 6pm BST:
However, that’s not the only option when it comes to watching the finals for free. You can also watch without a subscription via the BT Sport website or app, the latter available for iOS and Android.
If you’ve already done that paid for a subscription however, don’t worry. The match is also live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate, offering up to 4K HDR quality and Dolby Atmos support.
How to watch the Champions League final outside the UK for free
BT Sport is geo-restricted, meaning you can only officially watch the broadcast if you’re based in the UK, including on YouTube.
A workaround is available if you are outside this region, but we recommend that you find the local broadcaster first, especially if you are permanently based there. That’s CBS Sports (via Paramount+) in the US, Stan Sport in Australia or Sony Pictures Networks in the Indian subcontinent.
However, if you mostly watch from the UK, we’d recommend accessing the BT Sport stream with a VPN. This allows you to still look like you’re in the UK and maintain full access. It’s also perfectly legal.
NordVPN is one of our top picks, but you can check out our best VPN chart, which shows you some of the best services for accessing UK content from abroad. After you’ve signed in and installed the app on the device you want to use, do the following:
Connect to a UK server

Open NordVPN on the device you want to use. Click or tap on a UK server via the map or flag icon. After a few seconds it connects.
Open BT Sport

Login to your account (not necessary for the final)

Usually you need to sign in to your BT account or sign up for a new account to watch. But for the final, a link is available from the home page.
It’s also being streamed live on BT Sport’s YouTube channel, but you’ll still need a VPN.
If you only plan to use the VPN for football, you may also want to consider a free VPN. Almost all have a UK server, but there may be strict data limits.
Do you want to exercise more this weekend? The 24-hour race of Le Mans and the finals of the French Open tennis also take place.
