An armed carjacker allegedly fired shots outside a Centennial Walmart’s auto center before fleeing in the stolen vehicle, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office posted at 1:08 p.m. they were responding to a report of shots fired at the Walmart at 10900 E. Briarwood Ave. and said the incident was related to an auto theft and was not an active shooter situation.
About 45 minutes later, the sheriff’s office said there was a carjacking outside the Walmart’s auto center.
The victim is safe, and the suspect fled the scene in a silver Honda Civic, according to a 1:54 p.m. X post.
Deputies are searching for the vehicle.
