The House’s big Republican move to boost Trump was largely ignored as cable news got stuck on talking about the missing Titanic submarine.
Here’s how CNN handled the Schiff censorship:
The disapproval got about a minute of attention on CNN’s 7 p.m., which was more than on MSNBC at 6 or 7 p.m. CNN spent almost half an hour on the Titanic submarine, about 5 minutes on Trump, a bit of time on Ukraine, then back to the missing submarine.
Schiff’s disapproval was all over Newsmax and will get a lot of attention on Fox News, but overall Adam Schiff’s disapproval falls into the predictable media pattern of House Republicans doing things to help or appease Trump that go unnoticed outside the door the right-wing media bubble.
House Republicans have complained that their stories are not gaining traction outside of the conservative media.
The reason for this is that Republicans in the House are either pushing Russian disinformation like the Biden allegation of bribery, or they engage in heavy-handed partisan stunts, such as snubbing Adam Schiff.
Kevin McCarthy’s Trump appeasement can’t compete with the drama of a missing submarine at the Titanic wreck.
Republicans tried to generate attention and help Trump. They failed again.
