“If there wasn’t an Electoral College, we wouldn’t even have to have this. Well, we should be having this conversation because the developments are so dangerous. But we wouldn’t worry about the election,” Mary told the host.
“I mean… we’re on this right now. And the Republicans know they only have to focus on three states,” she explained. “And again, for those who support the electoral college, do you think that’s democracy if candidates can literally ignore 47 out of 50 states? It’s just absolutely absurd.”

The ex-prez’s niece explained how gerrymandering and voter subversion led her uncle to take over the Republican party and ultimately win the 2016 election. She argues that voter undermining is real and could result in illegitimate electoral victories for the right.
“So when you add to that, the media’s willingness to normalize Donald… Please treat him like he’s a normal candidate, not someone who’s been impeached twice, who instigated, planned, and incited an uprising, and who perpetuated the big lie and continues to perpetuate the big lie … Then they also normalize his followers. Then we will be in real trouble,” she told the host. “There is nothing normal about their relationship with their candidate.”
