Former Apex City Council Member Scott Lassiter accused the Speaker of the North Carolina House Tim Moore of placing a hidden camera at his home in retaliation for his sex scandal lawsuit, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Lassiter filed suit against Moore under North Carolina’s “alienation of affection” law, which allowed lawsuits to be brought against outside parties accused of interfering in a relationship. Lassiter claimed that Moore “forced” his ex-wife. Jamie to engage in “group sex” for “political favours.”
Jamie reportedly confessed to her ex-husband that she had a three-year affair with Moore while working for the state government as the executive director of the North Carolina Conference of Clerks of Superior Court.
According to Daily mailthe North Carolina Republican hired a person to plant a hidden camera in the bushes of Lassiter’s house in Raleigh.
Security cameras caught the unknown man sneaking into the former city councilman’s home in the early morning hours of June 1, which was ironically the estranged couple’s 10th wedding anniversary.
Lassiter discovered the small recording device, which resembled a GoPro camera, in his flowerbeds while working in the garden. Unbeknownst to those who planted the device, the ex-councilman devised a genius plan to capture the unknown camera planter when he returned.
Lassiter swapped the device with a personal camera and captured important evidence.
Six nights after the camera was initially placed, the man returned to the house to retrieve the device.
The man was caught on Lassiter’s camera, an image later used in support of Lassiter’s lawsuit against Moore, whom he accused of masterminding the operation.
While the man’s identity remained a mystery, Lassiter’s attorney said they wanted him to face trial.
“John Doe is currently an unidentified defendant. We want to identify him as soon as possible so he can be named and served in Mr. Lassiter’s pending civil suit,” Lassiter’s attorney said. Alice Jury told the outlet.
“The actions of the unknown defendant have caused Mr. Lassiter quite a bit of stress,” Jurney continued. It is disturbing to realize that while he slept in what he thought was the privacy of his home, an unknown person was setting up a hidden camera a few feet away with the intention of capturing him in this intimate setting. ”
