The high temperature in Denver will be 97 degrees and decrease to 64 degrees overnight, forecasters said. On Wednesday, the high temperature is expected to be 93 degrees.

The above-average heat, coupled with likely winds, has created fire risks in western Colorado’s forests. Weather officials on Tuesday afternoon warned of “near critical conditions with a red flag” in the mountains, valleys and foothills of the southern Front Range.
