Special Counsel Jack Smith is reportedly investigating whether Trump’s lawyers broke any laws when they tried to overturn the 2020 election.
The Wall Street Journal reported:
Prosecutors also questioned other witnesses about the involvement of Giuliani and other Trump lawyers, including Jenna Ellis and Kenneth Chesebro, people familiar with the case said.
…
Smith’s investigation focused on whether someone in Trump’s job committed crimes by sending fake voter rolls to Congress. The grand jury subpoenaed local officials in several battleground states to seek communications between election officials and Trump, his campaign and a broad group of his allies.
There are also reports that the special counsel is ready to charge Rudy Giuliani.
The only trendline in the most recent reporting on the special counsel’s investigation is that federal prosecutors are investigating Trump’s 2020 election attorneys for possible violations of law related to the bogus voter system. Former Trump attorney Lin Wood has chosen to retire before he can be suspended.
At this point, it would be surprising if all of Trump’s attorneys escaped criminal charges for their role in the plot to overturn the 2020 election results. The bogus voter plan appears to be the lynchpin of the investigation into Trump’s lawyers, but the lawyers do get sued, it’s impossible to understand how their client doesn’t go down with them.
