Madame Web has hit digital platforms much earlier than expected in America, so you can watch the bizarre Sony film in the comfort of your own home.
It may come as no surprise to superhero fans to hear that the film, starring Dakota Johnson, didn’t do well at the box office. Instead, the story of the paramedic with superpowers has become the source of numerous internet memes.
The main character of the new Sony film is Cassandra Webb, who, after a tragic accident, begins to experience strange events and discover her bizarre abilities. Soon, a spider-like assassin, Ezekiel Sims, starts hunting her down. To defeat him, Cassandra must join forces with three seemingly ordinary girls.
Many people may have been discouraged by the not-so-great reviews and decided to wait for the digital release of Madame Web. If you’re one of them, then we’ve gathered all the information you need to watch the film in the comfort of your own home.

When could Madame Web release on VOD?
Madame Web is now available to rent or buy on Google Play, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+ in the US. The film dropped on Friday, 15 March 2023, a month after its debut in cinemas.
No UK digital release has been confirmed yet, but we imagine that it could be in the coming weeks.
When could Madame Web release on DVD/Blu-ray?
The film will land on DVD and Blu-Ray on Tuesday, 30 April 2024.
You can already pre-order copies of the film – they’re available on the Amazon website and the Walmart online store, for example.
When could Madame Web release on streaming services?
The film’s release date on streaming services hasn’t been announced yet.
Madame Web was created by Sony, which doesn’t have its own dedicated streaming platform. However, the company has an agreement with Netflix, and most likely, the film will debut on this platform.
Morbius took five months to land on Netflix after hitting cinemas. If Madame Web follows a similar pattern, it should be available to stream around July 2024.
It’s worth noting that Madame Web isn’t part of the MCU. Sony’s superhero films form a separate universe, even though they are based on Marvel comics. According to the agreement between the two corporations, Sony movies on Disney+ will appear 18 months after the theatrical release.
This means a film with Dakota Johnson on Disney+ may not appear until the summer of 2025.
