A motorcyclist died Thursday afternoon and a woman was seriously injured in an accident in Aurora.
The motorcyclist was traveling east on East Quincy Avenue after 1 p.m. when he encountered a spinning Saturn station wagon driven by a woman, Aurora police said in a press release. The woman drove west and turned left onto South Jasper Street. Speed appears to have been a factor in the accident, police said.
The 19-year-old man on the motorcycle died after being taken to hospital, police said.
The driver of the car, a 51-year-old Aurora woman, was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, police said in the release Thursday night. Her adult daughter, who was a passenger in the car, also suffered injuries but was deemed stable, police said.
The crash closed the western side of Quincy for nearly two hours. The Aurora Police Department’s traffic investigation team was investigating the accident. APD urged anyone who witnessed the crash or who had dash camera footage to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-STOP (7867).
