Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter to respond to the earlier reports of Wagner mercenaries heading for Moscow in an alleged coup attempt.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the head of the Wagner Private Military Company, Evgene Prigozhin, never made it to Moscow, instead turning his troops around and ordering them back to their bases.
Prigozhin’s decision to step down came after hours of negotiations with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Greene, like many other Americans, finds the whole ordeal very suspicious, telling her followers on Twitter: “After our government has been funding a proxy war with Russia in Ukraine for over a year, I hope our government is not currently behind an attempt to a coup d’état. happening in Russia.”
She continued, “Regime change in a nuclear-armed country could lead to terrible consequences that the American people do not want.”
