According to the law firm, Bannon made partial payments totaling $375,000 of the more than $850,000 charged.
Bannon argued that he directed his lawyers to stop working for him in January 2022, claiming they had performed work unrelated to the subject matter of the retainer agreement. He has also argued that Robert Costelloa partner at the firm who regularly represented him would be a witness in a separate case against him and would therefore not be entitled to attorney’s fees.
Judge Bluth rejected Bannon’s arguments, stating that his claims were baseless. She noted that Costello filed a notice of withdrawal in the unrelated case in July 2022 after Bannon reportedly told the company to stop representing him.
