Speaking at CNN’s town hall, Trump did not answer when asked if he would give Ukraine weapons or support Ukraine in its war against Russia.
Video:
Question: Would you give Ukraine weapons?
Trump: Let me put it nicer. When I’m president, that war will be settled in one day, 24 hours.
So that’s a no. Nor would Trump say he wants Ukraine to win the war. #CNN TownHall pic.twitter.com/uARs1GXCFL

The exchange between Trump and Kaitlin Collins:
Collins: Do you want Ukraine to win this war?
Trump: I don’t think in terms of winning and losing. I think it’s settled, so stop killing all these people.
Collins: Mr. President, can I get into that? That’s an important statement you made. Can you say whether you want Ukraine or Russia to win this war?
Trump: I want everyone to stop dying. They die. Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I will have it done within 24 hours. I will have done it. You need the power of the presidency to do it.
Collins: But you don’t want Ukraine to win, do you?
Trump: I want Europe to set aside more money. Since they are in for 20 billion, they are in for 170 and should equalize. They have a lot of money. I made NATO pay hundreds of millions that they didn’t pay under Obama and Bush and all those other presidents. That’s why they can help them fight the war because of the money I have.
A vote for Trump is effectively a vote for Putin in the Ukraine war. What is striking is that absolutely nothing has changed with Trump in the past eight years. It is still in Vladimir Putin’s back pocket.
CNN’s Town Hall has been a disaster, but the only redeeming element of the fiasco is that Trump has exposed himself as the same anti-American, pro-Putin fraudster, who has a contempt for democracy and wants to weaken the United States.
