We’ve collected Pokemon cards in the schoolyard, snapped photos of them on our Nintendo 64s, battled with our Game Boys, and walked across town catching them on our smartphones. Now we can collect them in our dreams. Pokemon Sleep is a new app that allows you to catch Pokemon just by sleeping The edge.
The thing about this app is that it is a very nice sleep tracker. It tracks how long you sleep and gives you a report on how long you slept. That idea sounds strange, but sleep trackers aren’t new. Several smartwatches and fitness trackers have the ability to track your sleep and provide you with a report. Having healthy sleep patterns is part of overall health.
Pokemon Sleep is an app that allows you to catch Pokemon in your sleep
There’s quite a bit to this app outside of tracking your sleep. Its main mechanics is to monitor how long you sleep each night and present you the stats when you wake up in the morning.
The thing about this app is that it encourages you to practice good sleeping habits. For starters, you just see a Snorlax napping during the day. You give him food and drink to help him gain strength in the form of a number. The more you feed the Snorlax, the higher that number.
Then when you sleep, you’ll receive a sleep score based on how long you slept that night. It seems that your sleep score ranges from 1 to 100. The longer you sleep, the higher your sleep score.
When you wake up, the app multiplies your sleep score by the power of Snorlax to get your sleepy power. The higher your Drowsy Power, the more Pokemon will collect while you sleep. So the more you sleep, the more Pokemon collect while you sleep. Along with Pokemon, you also get a report on how you slept.
The app recommends putting your phone on your pillow while you sleep so it can better track your sleep. So if you’re comfortable with that, you shouldn’t have a problem.
Pokemon Sleep is currently underway pre-registration on the Google Play Store. We’re not sure when the company will officially launch the app, so you’ll want to stay tuned.
