Xiaomi has announced the latest in its Turbo range of smartphones and the Redmi Turbo 3 looks great in various technical ways but it’s the Harry Potter Limited Edition that’s the most interesting.
This version of the device has a special design featuring a striking blue and gold rear cover. As well as the Hogwarts emblem front and center, along with ‘Harry Potter’ below, there are more subtle details.
Eagle-eyed fans will notice that the camera flash has a lightning bolt design with a want in the background and the word ‘Lumos’ next to it. The purple section of the rear also has illustrations to represent horcruxes including Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem and Nagini the snake.
Fans buying the Turbo 3 Harry Potter Limited Edition will also receive a presentation box containing extras such as a Hogwarts school badge pin, protective case, custom charger, and a classic college theme.
It’s sure to be a hit with fans of the global phenomenon and you can buy it now from Giztop for $499 with global shipping.
If you’re interested in more than just the design (it’s also available in black, green and titanium colours) then the Turbo 3 is one of the first phones to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipsets.
With a focus on performance, the Turbo range fits between Xiaomi’s Redmi K and Redmi Note series. The Turbo 3 also features a large 6.67in AMOLED screen, a 50Mp main camera with OIS and 90W fast charging – the latter matching the flagship Xiaomi 14.
You can select various combinations of memory and storage with either 12- or 16GB of RAM and 256/512GB/1TB of storage. Prices range from CNY 1,999 (£220/$276) to CNY 2,799 (£308/$386).
It’s available in China starting 15 April from Xiaomi and is likely to get a global launch as the Poco F6, but whether this includes the Harry Potter edition remains to be seen.
It’s not the first time Xiaomi has collaborated with Warner Bros on a special Harry Potter device as the Redmi Note 12 Turbo Harry Potter Edition launched last year.
And if the Turbo 3 isn’t enough for you, then Xiaomi has also unveiled a Harry Potter edition of the Redmi Pad Pro.
It’s got a more simplistic design featuring a large Hogwarts logo and comes with a custom cover that looks like the Admissions letter. In terms of specs, it has a 12.1-inch 120Hz display, Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, 10,000mAh battery and 33W fast charging.
The tablet is priced at CNY 2,299 (£253/$317) for an 8/256GB model and goes on sale in China 15 April.
